Harrold van Barlingen, PhD (chairman)
Harrold van Barlingen is Founder and Managing Director of Thuja Capital. Prior to founding Thuja Capital he headed the life sciences effort of AlpInvest Partners managing a portfolio of over 30 companies, and worked as a consultant in management and strategy at the Boston Consulting Group (‘BCG’). Before BCG, he was acting head of the continental activities of the Lewin Group (a Quintiles subsidiary), an international firm specialized in the field of health economy. Harrold holds a M.Sc. degree in Medical Biology and a Ph.D. in Medicine, both from Utrecht University.

Ben DijkBen Dijk, MBA
Ben Dijk is Investment Director at DFZ Participaties, a captive venture fund of health insurance company De Friesland specially dedicated to healthcare innovations. Prior to DFZ Participaties he was an Investment Manager at Friesland Bank Investments, a private equity fund with a focus on medium sized companies. He was also advising the management board on the strategic portfolio of Friesland Bank. Before that he was responsible for building positions in listed small & medium sized companies. Ben holds a master in Business Administration from the University of Groningen.

 

Theo Claasen, PhD
Theo Claasen is Senior Partner at Point-One Innovation Fund. He has more than 35 years of experience in digital signal processing and micro-electronics. He lead the IC Design Center at Philips Research Labs from the start in 1985 and became CTO of Philips Semiconductors in 1997. He was involved in the demerger of this division from Philips in 2006 thereby creating the independent company NXP. As a member of the Board of Management of NXP he was, until his retirement, responsible for the company strategy and various acquisitions and sales of business lines. Currently he is active as advisor for strategic issues to small and large companies. Theo holds a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Technology, Eindhoven, and a Ph.D. from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.

Rob Lips, MSc
Rob Lips is a General Manager with 20 years of extensive international management experience, in building, growing and turn-around of businesses in the global healthcare industry. Currently he is owner and Managing Director of  Rob Lips Consulting and Managing Partner at Healthcare Angels to develop and realize the business and value of promising healthcare companies. He has worked as General Manager at the Philips Healthcare Incubator and in various roles at Philips Healthcare, including Manager global sales and marketing X-Ray Systems. Rob holds an M.Sc. in Electrotechnics from the University of Technology in Eindhoven.

Rob Slobbe, PhD
Rob Slobbe has a strong background in Quality and Regulatory affairs in medical devices, in-vitro diagnostic medical devices  and in the pharmaceutical industry. He presently is Q&R Director at Sapiens Steering Brain Stimulation, an emerging medical device company active in the field of deep brain stimulation. Prior to Sapiens, Rob has been responsible for quality and regulatory compliance in various roles at Philips, DSM and Akzo Nobel. Rob holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Nijmegen.

Jack van Sprang, BSc
Jack van Sprang has a strong experience in machine development and building international organizations.  Until his retirement he worked at Frencken Group, a business unit of ElectroTech Ltd, where he held positions of Director of Frencken Mechatronics BV, Managing Director of Frencken Group BV, Sr. VP at ElectroTech Investments and Delegated Supervisory Director of Frencken Group BV.  He was responsible for the acquisition of ETLA Singapore, Malaysia and China and its integration in Mechatronics Frencken Group. He started his career at Philips where he held several production and sales management related roles, including Director Sales and Marketing. Jack holds a B.Sc. in Engineering from the Technical College  in Zwolle.
